Update Progress

    1. Solar panels arrived from Germany but are still hold back at the terminal since the panels were supposed to arrive on the 10 June instead of 16 June. So an extension letter for the PO indicating reasons of delay was issued to Bendahari to solve this matter.
    2.  We set the safety belt in a fix position and combine the 2 front brake cables into one handle. We tested the brake so it can break simultaneously. Other components such as isolator (emergency stop button) and horn are also tested. The back wheel was changed to a new one and we replaced a new hub motor.

    E-shop Settle!

Today, I received the items from E-shop:
    • 3 Tyres (somehow I imagined they were black in color and surprisingly the color were light blue)
    • Horns(we got 2 horns despite the fact I ordered 1 horn, but I'm still waiting response from Kevin from E-shop to clarify whether the extra horn was given like that or it belongs to other teams)
    • Driver's Suit
    • LPG Kit (En Azhari asked my help to order for the LPG Team. But some problem occurred where the item received was only solenoid valve and no cartridge as mentioned. Fortunately, Kevin settle it with Shell and I'm glad since I was the one doing the ordering-takutla if it's actually my fault.)
The first 3 items are with Yanpeng for tomorrow's next trip to Mr Winston's place

Highlights of the 16 June meeting

    1. Last Thursday (10June) went to Mr.Winston house, a test run performed.. the vehicle is able to reach the speed 30-35 km/h

    2. However the motor burns due to high power supply from battery, whereas the hub motor only can support 36V, 250W. Joseph will order a new motor with can support high power voltage.

    3. Solar Panel arrived and stuff ordered from E-shop arrived (3 tyres, 2 suits, 1 horn)
However, the remaining stuff ( helmet, safety belts, skull face, shoes, gloves ) are still waiting response from En.Azhari, SU Prof Yusoff.

    4. This Friday (18June), the technical group and others will go Mr.Winston house to do the following jobs: ( Test Solar Panel, Change the 3 Tyres, Supervise the body making process ). Anyone wish to join, please contact Yanpeng.

    5. Regarding to the technical briefing on Showcase there are some features need to double check and confirm:

    (I) Dimension, Height <1.25x track width , wheel base
(II) Roll bar >5cm above helmet, able to withstand 70kgf
(III) No gap between bulkhead and body cover
(IV) Indicator for External Emergency shut down button
    (V) The battery voltage should <48V ( <50A permanent, <150A peak )

    Solar Panels

Our solar panels have arrived last Tuesday from Germany!!At last. So, this Friday we will be going again to Mr Winston's place to check out our solar panels. There will be 6 panels with 383 x 893 mm² each.

    Brief update on our progress

Our team went to Mr Winston house at Puchong to update on our vehicle.

We make the final check on the design so that it follow the rules. In the end we increase the length of the body to provide more space for the solar panels.

The motor also need to be replaced after the tricycle seem to slow down during the test drive.Since the body will be made by fiberglass, so the process will need a few days since we will be using 2 layers.

    Showcase of SEMASIA 2010

On the 2nd June 2010, Shell Malaysia organized Showcase of Malaysian Teams 2010 at the Auditorium Cempaka Sari, Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya.
Some preparations had been done for our booth presentation such as preparing posters to explain our design and components use for our car.
